Most pets experience minor skin or coat issues during their lifetime. If your pet develops a skin issue, you'll need to bring them in to see the vet because symptoms rarely resolve on their own.

There are many factors that can cause the skin conditions we see at our veterinary hospital. It might be an infection caused by a fungus, food or environmental allergies, parasites such as fleas or mites, a simple hormonal imbalance or bacteria that your pet contracted.
Before diagnosing a skin condition, our veterinary team may perform cytology (cell sampling), fungal cultures, blood work, allergy tests or biopsies or try an elimination diet. We can start the treatment plan after this analysis.
